Our Story
In 2018, Marsden Resorts Ltd took over ownership of Castaways Resort.
Marsden Group own and operate a portfolio of successful accommodation businesses throughout New Zealand while also providing independent consultancy and property management services to the industry. With affiliated partners we own and operate a combined portfolio of 4-5 star accommodation properties across New Zealand. These include the majority of the Ramada and Wyndham Garden properties throughout New Zealand.
We gave life to the name Marsden Hotels & Resorts out of respect and admiration of the achievements of the late great Reverend Samuel Marsden who lived 1765 - 1838. Marsden was a man who was admired by many on both sides of the Tasman, as a visionary, with strong commercial acumen, great relationship skills and a genuine love for people and how strategic thinking and planning can help communities prosper.
Marsden Group was established in July 2012. Our people are our greatest asset and it’s the inspiration from our people, their ideas, energy and vision that drives our business forward. He Tangata He Tangata He Tangata. From humble beginnings, we established a team with diverse talent & experience, and our vision was to provide an amazing and enjoyable accommodation experience for people of all ages supported by a level of service in hospitality that cannot be surpassed.
Ten years on, we stand true to that vision, and now proudly manage and operate 13 hotels throughout New Zealand.
