castaways

our story

Established in 2002, Castaways began as a coastal dining experience set high above the Tasman Sea. The venue served as a restaurant and as a private venue for special events such as weddings and conferences.

In 2003, the first of the Castaways chalets were designed and built in response to demand for onsite accommodation. Fifteen, two bedroom chalets were nestled into the cliff tops and so began Castaways Lodge. The Lodge accommodation was extended in 2008 to incorporate an additional 10 stylish studio units.

Castaways Lodge has a unique style of ownership whereby private investors purchase units and the Castaways Lodge business then manages and maintains the units. Owners can holiday in their unit and when not in use, Castaways lets the unit out to guests staying at Castaways. You too can become part of the Castaways success story by becoming a Castaways Lodge Unit owner. Click here to request details

To cater for private dining guests and an increasing demand for weddings and conferences, in 2007 the Castaways venue became a dedicated functions and events centre and a new restaurant, "Agave" was purpose built as Castaways a-la-carte restaurant.

Current expansion includes extending our venue options with the development of the Tasman Venue, adding a fabulous Day Spa for both public and onsite guests to enjoy, expanding our ever popular activity offering and continuously improving the service and experience we provide to our greatly valued clientele.
